THE RETURN OF TEDxDURHAM
After spending many years across the pond near the neo-gothic spires of Duke University and the tobacco farms of North Carolina, we're extremely excited to be repatriating TEDxDurham back to North East England on Sunday, 2nd November 2025!
THE EXPERIENCE
At its most basic, TEDxDurham features 10 amazing talks each lasting no more than 15 minutes.
But the experience will be much more than the sum of its parts. Taken as a whole we believe our event has the potential to elevate our participants up to a higher state of consciousness sometimes referred to as "a growth mindset". It's a big claim but we're confident we can deliver that for our audience.

THE TEAM
Your TEDxDurham team is one of the most experienced TEDx crews in the world having produced 50+ TEDx events across Northern England and the wider world. Over 25 of our TEDx Talks have been chosen by the TED Editorial Team in New York to be featured either on the TED.com homepage, the TEDx Youtube Channel (with 43m+ subscribers), TED podcasts, the TED Blog & even on the main stage of the TED Conference itself.
We can't wait to bring a brand new TEDx event to Durham in 2025!
WHAT'S TEDx
In the spirit of discovering and spreading ideas, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxDurham, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxDurham event, TED Talks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

Literally one of the best days of my business life. My new annual non-negotiable.
As many others have said in similar ways, I’ve left feeling that I’ve received a humanity booster shot from a host of brilliantly curated speakers – some of which certainly gave me a good shake. Provocation and progress was indeed a fitting title.
Well done again Durham County Council, Herb Kim and everyone involved. Look forward to next year. Lots of takeaways from a fantastically diverse set of speakers.
